Ushering us into the weekend a little early, Jude Flannery teases the drop of his solo debut by unveiling his latest track, “Stars”, a heartfelt effort tinged with a soul-baring piano ballad and honey-suckled vocals. "This song considers the moment we decide to continue to love someone, despite being aware of their more apparent faults,” explains the artist, whose honest narratives on the taboo topics of love and connection are postulated throughout Quiet By Your Side, coming October 28th.
In keeping with the themes of the track, the melody perfectly mirrors the ups and downs of Flannery’s narrative, juxtaposing soaring synths with a sombre tempo, culminating to create something that is at once compelling, relatable and undeniably mesmerising.
Speaking on the video, Flannery imparts, “Directed by Marc Zajack and filmed by Alexandra Golden Flannery, the video for ‘Stars’ is a series of moments accentuated by an abstract narrative that reflects upon the ideas of journey, relationship and connection. Intertwined with each other, these moments emphasise the intimate human experiences that keep us coming back to the connections we make with others over time.”
Creating connections of his own with fans old and new, “Stars” marks the beginning of the Philadelphia-based artist’s imminent rise, and we are more than willing to join him for the journey.
