We know it might not feel like summer is on the way with these constant thundery showers and blistering wind, but trust us it is and icekream’s latest banger “Real Rap” with Prayah is getting us in the mood. Giving us the same hard-hitting tone as Biggie and MF Doom, Prayah tears up the menacing hip-hop production, and pulls us in with his smooth vocal finesse and quick-fire flow. With a heady trap bass line, producer icekream takes influence from the likes of old-school artists such as Eminem and Dr. Dre and moulds it into a contemporary NYC-style single, filled with harmonising vocal samples and moody reverbs.
Talking about his collaborator Prayah, icekream revealed, “ Real Rap is a showcase for Prayah, the New York voice that has been missing from the hip hop game.”
Label head, producer and musician icekream has been churning out hits this past year, taking us from the sun-filled beaches of LA with Mo Sella to the thumping underground electronica scene with jazz-tinged single “Listen”. With the producer well on his way to join the likes of Hitmaka and Tay Keith, we say keep a close eye on this one.
